Adam Cicchillitti

Montreal-born guitarist Adam Cicchillitti has risen to prominence as one of Canada’s most celebrated classical guitarists, renowned for his artistry and innovation. CBC Music named him an “ardent ambassador for classical guitar” and included him among Canada’s top 30 musicians under 30, while Classical Guitar magazine described him as “a virtuoso at the top of his game.” Since 2019, Adam has commissioned over 30 new works, recorded five acclaimed albums with Analekta, Atma, and Leaf Music, and received awards such as “Classical Recording of the Year” at the 2021 East Coast Music Awards for his album Focus. His duo with guitarist Steve Cowan earned second and third prizes at the prestigious Guitar Foundation of America International Ensemble Competition in 2023 and 2021, respectively. As a soloist, Adam is only the second guitarist to win the grand prize at the Canimex Concerto Competition and has been a finalist and prize-winner in over a dozen national and international competitions. He frequently collaborates with leading Canadian artists, including baritone Philippe Sly, flutist Lara Deutsch, and the Orchestre classique de Montréal. Adam has toured extensively across Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. A dedicated educator, Adam is a lecturer of guitar at Mount Allison University, the founder of the guitar program at Ottawa Suzuki Strings, and holds a doctorate from McGill University.
