Pur Pasteur

Pushing neoclassical piano music into new electronic landscapes. Montreal-based Pur Pasteur (Nathan Giroux) plays the piano and composes music. Since 2017, he has been working at the intersection of contemporary dance, theater productions, circus performances, podcasts, as well as developing his own musical project. In 2019, he crafted the soundtrack to Eduardo Ruiz Vergara's El silencio de las cosas presentes. His first album, Géométries, for solo piano, came out at the end of 2020, followed by Les Carnets d’Erod in 2023. Since then, he authored a series of sonic miniatures for children stories with Berceurs du temps, and teamed up with video game composer Xavier-Charles Fecteau to deliver Le Voyage d’Héliodore (2024), a cinematic epic for piano and synthesizers.
