Biography & Metadata
Norrá Hill is a US-German indie pop project built around two voices and the distance between them. Frank Lechtenberg — guitarist, bassist, producer, and songwriter, based in Germany — and Kari Ehli — vocalist and lyricist from Tacoma, Washington — make music that treats physical separation not as a limitation but as part of the sound itself. Their songs sit at the intersection of melodic precision and emotional openness. Drawing on the jangly guitar tradition of the C86 era, the spirit of Bristol's Sarah Records, and the atmospheric production of 1980s dream pop, Norrá Hill makes guitar pop for the hours when the light changes. Since 2019, the project has released a series of carefully produced singles and EPs — most of them mastered in 24-Bit Hi-Res by Steve Kitch Mastering (UK) and available in lossless quality on Qobuz and Bandcamp. Their 2026 single "Black Car" marks a new direction: rhythmically propulsive, bass-forward, and emotionally precise — a song about what money cannot buy.
