Sam Shube

A native of Southern California, Sam Shube is an Interventional Radiologist, avid boater and proud father of multiple dogs in Florida's Tampa Bay area. He started learning to play guitar at the age of nine, from an Italian classical guitarist, D.C. Benetti. Fond memories of those lessons include food rewards... When the performances were good, Mr. Benetti would reach into a lower desk drawer and pull out a large coffee can with fresh breadsticks made by his wife. Sam would like to think that his long-standing battle with overeating stemmed from being a really good guitarist as a kid! However, if the performances had too many mistakes, Sam got a quick WAP on the knuckles with a wooden pointer! Sam was introduced to the mellower sounds of the Windham Hill artists, and his life changed after seeing Michael Hedges perform live. Sam has been enamored with Modern Fingerstyle guitar ever since. Current influences include Andy McKee, Antoine Dufour, Calum Graham and so many other brilliant artists who have taken the acoustic guitar to new levels! Sam is also passionate about the guitars themselves. Guitar design, guitar building and the artisans who create these masterpieces are near to his heart. Also deep in his heart, part of his soul and inspiration, traveling through many tropical island journeys, always with a guitar in hand! The music seems to speak the calm, relaxing and peaceful scenery of an uncrowded white sand beach, blue skies and sparkling turquoise waters.
