CTZN is an American beat maker, record producer, instrumentalist, dj & occasional vocalist. His current project is the group thegoodnews. - a collaboration with hip hop icon Del The Funky Homosapien, illustrator Pete Cosmos, rapper Po3, and bass & fx guru Juan Alderete, amongst others. Their project This Just In! debuted in April of 2025 via NYC’s Nature Sounds label, with a follow-up slated for 2026. Between 2017-2020 CTZN collaborated primarily with California rapper Gee. - notably on Gutter (The Jumpoff), inspiring the duo to team for The Last Days and Wake The Giant EPs. In 2016 and 2021 respectively, CTZN introduced an instrumental beat series spanning two volumes - whatcanisay?, Vol. 1 and Whatcanisay?? (Vol. 2) Following an invitation to release some music directly from the folks at Spotify, CTZN prepared the 'Ought.Um' single series, spanning 2018-2019, culminating with the release of all the instrumentals from the series as an album collection. Ought.Um Beats features 20 tracks of mostly short, concise lo-fi beats, jazz hop & alternative hip hop instrumentals.
