Biography & Metadata
ALEKSANDER DĘBICZ – pianist, composer, arranger, and music director – is a leading figure in the Polish music scene, known for his original “cinematic classical” style, blending classical music, film score narrative, and improvisation. He debuted this approach on Cinematic Piano (2015, Warner Classics) and has continued to develop it through albums, compositions, and concert projects. Improvisation and original music are central to Dębicz’s work, which spans solo piano, chamber ensembles, orchestras, and music for theatre, film, and radio. His compositions have been performed internationally, and his score for a radio drama earned him an award at the Two Theatres Festival (2019). Dębicz also composes for theatre and film, including high-profile productions performed by leading ensembles. In 2022, he won the international Bridgerton Scoring Competition, praised by Netflix composer Kris Bowers. Dębicz has released seven albums on Warner Classics and is a five-time Fryderyk Award nominee. As a pianist, he performs worldwide with orchestras, as well as at major festivals. He is also a sought-after arranger and music director for high-profile events. A graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, Aleksander Dębicz continually redefines classical music by merging tradition with innovation.
