Sameer Rahat

Sameer Rahat is a Bombay-based composer, lyricist, and performer. Born into a lineage of legendary Urdu poets, his work moves fluidly between film score, independent records, and live performance. Rooted in Urdu verse, his art is not merely an auditory experience: it is cinema for the ears. His debut album Aamad (2020) reached #1 on the iTunes India Pop chart and introduced the self-styled sound he then called Urdu-blues: acoustic, cinematic, slow-burning. The 2025 follow-up Rozmarra moved into urdu electronica production and was selected for Spotify’s RADAR India and Global programmes. His third album, Puraana, arrives in 2026. Beyond his own records, his screen credits include Faraaz (Netflix), Modern Love Mumbai (Prime Video), Homecoming (SonyLiv) and lyric work for Sector 36 (Netflix), Hush Hush (Prime Video),The Fame Game (Netflix) and many more. He performs solo, in duo, and with a seven-piece ensemble across India and Europe.
