Equal

Equal is an LA-based DJ and music producer from Asheville, NC. A true Swiss Army knife of the international party circuit, he is repeatedly invited into culturally specific scenes and diaspora-led events—trusted for his musical fluency, adaptability, and respect for the rooms he plays. A lifelong drummer from a musical family, his transition to production was seamless. His breakout single, Lost in the Evening (ft. Gary Jules), set the stage for hits like Shakedown and Contact High (feat. Gyptian), earning global DJ support and placements across HBO, Netflix, Vogue UK, and more. His work spans labels including Motown, Big Beat/Atlantic, Heavy Roc Music, and beyond. In addition to his solo work, Equal continues to collaborate across disciplines and scenes. Most recently, he launched Office Hours, a live B2B DJ project with Bipolar Sunshine, blending unreleased material, deep cuts, and high-energy improvisation in an intimate, club-forward format. The project serves as both a performance series and a creative incubator, with multiple collaborative releases slated for 2026. Upcoming music includes new work with Bipolar Sunshine, Wurld, Chela Et Cetera, and others—further expanding Equal’s reach as a connector between underground culture, global pop, and forward-thinking dance music.
