Biography & Metadata

Born in 1959 in Grasse, Didier Sustrac seized the family guitar when he was 8 years old. Ten years later, fed by the stories of his grandmother poet and painter, he goes to Brazil, it is the shock of bossa nova. He immerses himself in the movement of Joao Gilberto, Caetano Veloso and chisels his writing, for which French is essential. His first album, Zanzibar (1993) earned him a great success in France and Japan, opportunities dreamed to go back on the road and invoke meetings: poems for Madagascar, a novel, duets with Chico Buarque, Claude Nougaro, Pierre Barouh or Philippe Baden Powell. He writes for Maurane, Nana Mouskouri. For him, eight albums, so many looks on the world and the deep desire to sing for us.
