Biography & Metadata
Claudio Suriano is a guitar player and composer from South Italy, currently based in Denmark. He both attended the “Polytechnic University of Bari” for a Bachelor in Industrial Design and "Saint Louis College of Music” in Rome for a Diploma in Jazz Guitar with Nico Stufano, an experience that made him realize how much important is music for him. He has been a member of the “Saint Louis College of Music Big Band” in Rome, led by Maurizio Giammarco, Rosario Giuliani, Kurt Elling, Vince Mendoza, and Rich DeRosa. Always trying to push the boundaries of the genres, he is focused on composing his own music both for solo and small ensembles. "I feel like to mention that all this started with "my" trio with Gianluca Aceto on bass and Luca Abbattista on drums: I can't imagine being where I am now, without the experience of having played with these great guys!" Claudio has played also with the “Majatica Ensemble” during the “Majatica Jazz Festival 2018”, the “Siena Jazz 2018 Excellences” for the “San Leo Music Festival 2018” (as a prize for being excellence during the Siena Jazz Summer Workshop 2018), and with the Los Angeles based guitar player Allen Hinds in May and November 2018. Since March 2019 he is based in Denmark, where has collaborated with different artists: Anelogi (DK), Sebastian Zawadzki (PL), Jordan Jackson (UK), Romulo Duarte De Oliveira (BR), Niels Lan Doky (DK), Paul Wertico (US), Steve Rodby (US), Miguel Atwood-Ferguson (US), Lyonne (ARG).
