I’m on the other DSPs (as unfortunately, streaming is still the culture) - but I recommend patreon, bandcamp and qobuz (for streaming) or just buy physical music. ideally, from a merch table. music is meant to be paid for. not just mine, but anyone's. I don’t judge any musician who has stayed on any DSP. many of us have no say in the matter and those of us that do, are rightfully nervous to leave. the music industry has trapped all of us in a toxic, soul-draining relationship with this platform and I'm entirely sick of it. war profiteering and fake AI slop aside, the way this platform has flagrantly disregarded and grossly undervalued our work is unforgivable. music is not a cheap, single-use product. it is ancient, omniscient and omnipresent. elitist, arrogant, insatiable and poisonous billionaires know this. so, they exploit it. I’m keeping my profile on here (for NOW) so you can find me and read this. I am begging you to take a stand. nothing changes if nobody is willing to change. without your support, real artists will fade from your algorithms until all you can hear are our stolen voices, echoed by an empty vessel. fortunately, I do have a choice.
