Biography & Metadata
Jean Carlos Santiago Pérez, Guaynaa embodies the evolution and versatility of a new generation of Latin artists. While his initial trajectory catapulted him to fame in urban music through global hits like “Rebota” among other international collaborations his musical roots are deeply anchored in salsa, a genre that shaped his childhood through legendary artists like Chamaco Ramírez, La Fania All Stars, El Gran Combo and Ismael Rivera. His ability to artistically reinvent himself led him to explore diverse musical genres with authenticity and natural ease. His musical journey spans from reggaeton to flamenco-pop, cumbia and salsa. This sonic diversity reflects his versatility as an artist and his commitment to expanding Latin American musical boundaries. In 2022, by establishing his independent label, Guaynaa Records, the artist began a new creative chapter that reconnected him with his musical origins. This return to his roots reached a defining moment in 2024, when his spontaneous performance of salsa classics during his European tour, particularly “Ven Devórame Otra Vez” in Barcelona, revealed a facet that surprised audiences but had always been present in his musical DNA. In 2025, Guaynaa solidifies his transition into salsa with “Caramelito,” his first original composition in the genre, written by Omar Alfanno, proving that this new chapter isn't following passing trends but represents an authentic musical homecoming.
