Biography & Metadata

Compton, California native YG is a Grammy-nominated rapper, songwriter, entrepreneur, and cultural icon. Rising to fame with his breakout single “Toot It and Boot It” and platinum-selling debut album My Krazy Life, YG helped redefine West Coast hip-hop with his raw storytelling, streetwise authenticity, and chart-topping hits like “My N*gga,” “Who Do You Love?” and “Big Bank.” A founder of the 4Hunnid brand and label, he’s released seven studio albums and collaborated with artists such as Nipsey Hussle, Mustard, Tyga, Meek Mill, J. Cole, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and 2 Chainz. 2025 marks a new year of growth for YG. His first single of the year, “2004” showcases a more personal side where he opens up about being sexually abused as a teenager by an older woman. Through his introduction of The Gentlemen's Club, it’s clear that YG’s presence spans music, fashion, and social commentary.
