lowmun

lowmun is the alias of German producer Lorenz Munter, a quiet beat-maker who prefers late nights in a small home studio to bright stages. Growing up surrounded by old jazz records and dusty cassette tapes, he started chopping loops and layering soft drum patterns as a way to slow life down. His sound lives somewhere between mellow boom bap and warm bedroom jazz – unquantized drums, muted keys, distant guitar lines and a gentle vinyl crackle that feels like winter light through a window. Instead of chasing trends, lowmun builds small worlds: short sketches that feel like half-remembered conversations, walks under streetlights, or the soft hum of an empty kitchen at 2 a.m. Most of his tracks are written on a laptop and a couple of cheap synths, then run through old hardware and tape to give them their worn-in glow.
