Jamie McIntyre is one of Ireland’s most exciting emerging independent artists, with a rise that began busking in Galway city during his college years. Writing music from the age of 15, he built an early audience through social media before gaining wider recognition after being selected by Gavin James to support him in Paris. His breakthrough came in summer 2024 with “Over Galway Town,” a viral hit that amassed over 50 million TikTok views and 8.5 million Spotify streams, reaching audiences worldwide. That momentum led to major live opportunities including Electric Picnic and support slots with at venues such as Dublin’s 3Olympia McIntyre’s career continued to accelerate with sold-out headline shows across Ireland, including Dublin, Limerick, and Galway. His EP Chapter 23 strengthened his fanbase, with tracks like “West is Home” and “Grá” gaining millions of streams, followed by his EP ‘For Folk’s Sake’,which introduced fan favourite “Melbourne” and a sold-out Irish and UK tour. In 2026, he expanded further with 10 sold-out Irish dates, UK headline shows at The Camden and King Tuts, and tours alongside The 502s,Cian Ducrot & Luke Combs. With new releases like “17 Again” and “Off to America,” McIntyre continues to build a career rooted in storytelling, home, and Irish identity, becoming a defining voice in modern folk-inspired music.
