MettaForm

MettaForm is an offering of soothing and beautiful solo piano music from me, pianist and composer Sarvadarśin Rich Batsford inspired by the minimalist yet melodic Ludovico Einaudi and the evocative simplicity of Joep Beving. I chose the name, ‘metta’ being a word used in Buddhism (I’m a member of the Triratna Buddhist Order) to describe the kind of positive regard or well wishing for others which you might also call loving-kindness or unconditional love. In our modern times, which have been called 'the age of anxiety', I think theres a value in gentle, soft music which is easy to enjoy and relax to.
