Biography & Metadata

Rosa is driven by her passion to leave a distinctive mark on the Latin music scene. Throughout her career, she has been an integral part of underground projects focused on Noise and experimental music, such as Mangina, Raters, and Boy Band. These projects were launched under her own label, culminating in her transition to a reggaeton DJ in 2015. Specializing in reggaeton, cumbiaton, dembow, guaracha, merengue house, 3ball, and other underground genres, Rosa Pistola creates an atmosphere on the dance floor that is both highly erotic, subversive, and experimental. Among her achievements is her participation in the first reggaeton Boiler Room alongside DJ Playero. She was one of the first reggaeton DJs to perform at the EDC Mexico festival and has shared the stage with icons like Ivy Queen and The Noise for RBMA. Additionally, she has performed at renowned venues such as MoMA PS1 in New York, Primavera Sound ft Boiler Room 2022, Sonic Acts, Unsound, and many more. Some of her most notable collaborations have been with NTS Radio, creating three projects: UNDER MX, Radio Super Underground, and a Cumbiatón compilation accompanied by a mini-documentary called "Cumbiaton Total". In 2021, she started a new chapter by establishing her official urban sound label and founding a recording studio called "La Chekera REC". Furthermore, she collaborated with Resident Advisor on a documentary that unravels the rich history of Mexican reggaeton called "ESTADO DE REGGAETON".
