Battle of the Year stands for the promotion and preservation of breaking culture. From the very beginning, BOTY has provided crews from all over the world with a platform to showcase their skills, creativity, and passion for this art form. What started in 1990 in Hannover as a local event has, over the years, developed into one of the most important competitions in the global breaking scene. Authenticity and a respectful approach to the culture have always remained at its core. We believe that dance connects people — across borders, languages, and cultural differences. Year after year, crews from many countries come together to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and celebrate what unites them: Breaking.
