Biography & Metadata

Once upon a time, in 2003, in a faraway land called Bosnia and Herzegovina, a group of friends decided to form a band. But this was no ordinary band. Mixing Balkan flavours with ska, punk, reggae, hip-hop and electronic music, Dubioza Kolektiv emerged from a post-war scene with barely a music industry, few places to play and little space for a new generation. From their self-titled debut (2004) through Dubnamite, Firma Ilegal, 5 do 12, Wild Wild East, Apsurdistan, Happy Machine, Pjesmice za djecu i odrasle, #fakenews and Agrikultura, they turned social absurdities into irresistible dance-floor anthems. Their music has featured collaborations with Manu Chao, Benji Webbe, Roy Paci, La Pegatina and others. In 2025 and 2026 came new music including “Rakija y Ron” with Adrià Salas of La Pegatina, “Balkan Boys,” “f.u.c.k.y.o.u.,” “Yebiga” and “God Is Not Your Babysitter” with Goran Bregović, with a new album scheduled for 2027. In 2026, their 2011 song “USA” unexpectedly found a second life around Bosnia and Herzegovina’s return to the FIFA World Cup. The band followed with “I Am From Bosnia / Take Me to America.” More than twenty years in, Dubioza have played Glastonbury, Roskilde, Lollapalooza, Lowlands, Boomtown Fair, Paaspop, Wacken Open Air and Vive Latino, while selling out venues across the Balkans and beyond. Loud, independent, relentlessly touring and politically inconvenient, they still haven't figured out how to become a normal band.
