Opal Drums

Opal Drums is the new collaborative project of Jon1st and Mux Mool. Crafted across studios in Leicester and Denver, Opal Drums reflects a transatlantic partnership built on shared values of experimentation, emotion, and narrative cohesion. Their name embodies this duality - the iridescent glow of opalescence against the primal energy of drums - a guiding tension that gives their music both polish and punch. At the heart of Opal Drums lies a conceptual universe: one where towering alien monoliths descend on Earth, igniting visions in those bold enough to approach. These monoliths serve as metaphors for transformation, uncertainty, and awe - a visual and emotional language that runs parallel to the duo’s genre-fluid sonic identity. Instead of committing to a single BPM or subgenre, Opal Drums are building a cohesive musical world, where club futurism collides with downtempo psychedelia, and each release adds another piece to the story.
