Grimaldo

In the early 80s Grimaldo started as the drummer of various punk bands from Limburg Germany. The best known was Korpus Kristi. Together with The Wirtschaftswunder and Die Radierer a grouping formed that is considered one of the forerunners of the Neue Deutsche Welle. There was no shying away from commercial projects and it smashed. From one day to the next the song "Theme from Rocky" entered number 4 in the German sales charts. A short time as a kind of popstar began, still “only” as the drummer. After that he began composing and producing and got into business with the label ZYX . His first track "M. Loves You" was released in 1987 under the label "The New Sound Of Frankfurt" and on the groundbreaking sampler of the same name. Along for the ride: Talla 2XLC and Sven Väth with their first projects. In the early 90s Grimaldo was again a little ahead of his time. He produced techno-like tracks with Darmstadt's Army Rapper Possy including Turbo B. (Snap). ZYX released some of them. The Eurodance wave started rolling elsewhere too. In 1999 he started to work as a copywriter for the well-known advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi, but never stopped with music. Grimaldo works with the singer and model Tessa Bergmeier for several years now and the two regularly enter varios dance charts with their rather poppy tracks. With "Gloss schimmert nice" Grimaldo has now made a break and is bringing his musical roots more to the fore.
