Biography & Metadata
HKL – named after my father, Heinz Karl Langer. My Catholic faith is my greatest source of strength, followed by the man whose initials I proudly carry and the woman who has faithfully stood beside me through life’s highest highs and deepest lows. I write melodies born from faith, gratitude and memory – music for the soul, created to lift, heal and remind us of the light we come from. In the past, I wrote songs for various artists, with releases on BMG, Sony and other major labels, including a Gold-certified record. The most defining song of my life is “It’s Killing Me”, originally written in 2002 and heard by my father before he passed away. The song reached the charts in 2003 and, in many ways, became the beginning of my own “trance for life”, ultimately leading to the greatest gift of all: my children. Years later, it was reimagined by Heatbeat on Armada Music, received extensive support from Armin van Buuren, and inspired remixes, samples and covers by Da Tweekaz, generating more than 40 million combined streams across all platforms. Since returning as a songwriter in 2024, I’ve released music on Future Sequence, In Trance We Trust, Chasing Dreams, Hypersia Records, Raz Nitzan Music and more. Collaborations with Wavetraxx, Mhammed El Alami, NELLY TGM, Eximinds, Heatbeat, Hypersia and others. Gratefully supported by XiJaro & Pitch, Andrew Rayel and many others.
