Originally from Amish Country, PA and now based in New York City, Annie's path through music has been anything but typical. After a diagnosis of focal dystonia in her left hand interrupted the classical violin studies she had built her life around, she shifted her creative focus toward production, songwriting, and the wider world of recorded music. Her official remixes for Old Sea Brigade and Axel Flóvent went on to see streaming success, leading her to join Nettwerk Music Group's A&R team, where she continues to develop eclectic indie pop and alternative artists including PEGGY, Madds Buckley, and Fish in a Birdcage. She is also a string arranger and creative collaborator, with contributions to music by David Archuleta, Vacations, Mon Rovîa, and ivri. Annie Elise also unexpectedly went viral in China after appearing in lifestyle vlogs with her husband and creative partner, zfromthealphabet. Together, the duo run their NYC studio Boomer Hotel and create as 安姐和老张 on Douyin, where their cross-cultural relationship and natural storytelling have grown an audience of over 1M followers - most of whom have never heard her music. All of this feeds back into Annie's own work: intimate, colorful, and a little uncanny. Her sophomore EP magic - which she describes as "levitating in a glitchy and witchy kind of way" - arrives July 10th.
