Safari Room is the indie rock outfit and brainchild of Alec Koukol, who turns introspection into atmosphere. His songwriting balances vulnerability and hope, dynamic instrumentation, and blends alternative rock, indie pop, and post-rock into something both expansive and deeply personal. Fans of Death Cab for Cutie, The National , Phoebe Bridgers, and Local Natives will find a familiar emotional pull in Safari Room’s music, which often explores mental health, personal growth, and connection – offering listeners not just songs, but moments to reflect. The journey began with Look Me Up When You Get There (2020), introducing Safari Room’s sweeping guitars, dynamic arrangements, and evocative vocals. Complex House Plants (2022) expanded the sonic palette with richer textures and deeper emotions, while Time Devours All Things (2024) captured a raw urgency that cemented the band’s unique sound. Recent releases include Covers, Vol. 1 and Kindling EP – both offering new angles on Safari Room's sound. Across three albums, multiple EPs, and immersive live shows, Safari Room has cultivated a devoted following drawn to music that resonates on a personal level. Whether you’re singing along in a crowded room or driving alone with your thoughts, Safari Room offers a place to sit with your feelings – and maybe even find some light in them. Safari Room's new single The Wheel is out now. It's a bold step into the next phase of Safari Room.
